First trip home

_MG_7801

Bb S’s presence in Penang practically dethroned my sis’s 2nd boy (covering his face in pix :))  All attention were given to the youngest.  Visitors come and go- neighbours, aunties, grand uncle, grand aunt (who adored bb S to the bits that she visited two days in a row !). There was no shortage of ‘carrier’- the only time she’s not in someone’s arms were during her sleep. M and I managed to get out on our own to do little bit of window shopping and eating some nice Penang food without thinking of the bb, knowing that she’s in good hands . And i gained 1 kg by eating and doing nothing ...

Royal treatment

Counting down to our trip back to Penang with bb S- 1 more week! Hooray!! I’ve been waiting (and waiting) for a holiday, a getaway, a break, away from work, away from Singapore.

Apart from me, there’s another person who has been counting down to our trip – my sis. She’s been ringing me every other week, telling me: ‘Yay, bb S is coming back’… Yesterday she rang and told me that everything is set up – the room, play pan, new mattress (!!!), new bed sheet, prams (a few to choose from my brother’s or hers), diapers, pajamas, she even wanted to get some milk powder! She also roped my brother in to plan for a family outing!

Wow, I hardly see my sis (who is usually laid-back and cool) gets so excited.

Power of bb S!

Girls night out

aimai2Girls night out no longer come easy. After much re-scheduling and postponement, we finally celebrated AM’s birthday 10 days after the actual day at Choupinette, Bukit Timah.  It was a night that I looked forward for the entire week! Time flies as it’s been 3 years since the three of us had dinner together with heart-to-heart chat. As a matter of fact, it’s been awhile since I last had a girls-night-out. Most of my meetings with grilfriends take place during lunch- effective time management :)  There was no silence the moment we sat down, catching up on respective lives, sharing, laughing out loud, making fun of servers…It ended beautifully...

Bonne fête des mères

One SMS that touched me today:-
A permanent full time job is being a MOTHER! You cant tender
resignation and there is no part- time post. Mothers, a special
person, who is there for her child through sacrifices, love and pain,
giving out unconditional love, everlasting devotion, to hold her family
together, through the storms of life.

Sophie La Girafe

_MG_6451This giraffe looks al-cheapo at first sight but we got it because her name is Sophie! Originated from France, aka Sophie La Girafe is made of 100% natural rubber, phtalate-free (whatever that means).

Apparently she was ‘born’ in 1961 and has been a ‘must-have’ toy in France for more than 40 years. More importantly her flexible, natural rubber materials and non-toxic paint mean Sophie the Giraffe is a safe and all-natural teething toy for babies. The dark and contrasting spots over the body are designed to give visual stimulation!

Whatever it is, she’s bb S’s second best friend after her knuckles!

Kimchi-fied

It must have been more than 4 months since I last slept for such a long period. After 2 consecutive days of Korean food my tummy gave way to stomach flu. Cramps, puke, diarrhoea followed by fever and flu. The string of medicine doc prescribed completely knocked me out. I S.L.E.P.T for hours and hours waking intermittently for meals and say hi to bb S (from a distance).

Meanwhile M took over the role of mummy and daddy with no complains- tugging bb S to sleep, night feeding, leaving me to rest in my self - quarantine bedroom (both daddy and daughter sleep in the living room).

Definitely staying away from Kimchi for awhile....

Super heroes

It has been a Superheroes weekend for bb S. WHY?

Saturday- Superman day

Subsequent to my ME time,  I confidently brought bb  S to Yellow Light for lunch with AM, with a smirk on my face (thinking that I could handle bb alone). As I was happily catching up with AM, I forgot that bb S was not buckled up in the stroller and the barrier was not down. She was sleepy and I pulled down the cover and started swinging. Before i knew it, I saw her flying out of the stroller and landed on the floor!! Praise God her forehead was up!! She cried briefly and started smiling probably after a minute or so… Shocked, guilty, worried, close to tears, laughing (to calm myself), my emotions were jumbled up, just kept thanking God that she’s fine.  I stupidly hid the incident from M until the evening, being stressed the whole day and not acting like myself.  Tsk Tsk Tsk, oh me of little faith. Of course M was not angry. I Thank God for an understanding and calm husband…

Sunday- Plastic man day

Early in the morning, as I tried to carry bb S over to nurse her, her left hand was accidently twisted and dislocated. Each time she tried to move her hand she cried like a puppy crying for help… So imagine the scene- her right arm is moving about but left hand glued to the bed. I cried this round. We sent her to A&E and the doctor manipulated her and ‘relocated’ her arm! After a loud cry and a ‘crack’ sound, bb S is moving about and smiling again.
