Family first

Surely He has borne our grieves (sickness) and carried our sorrows (pains)…

--- Isaiah 53:4

I would have been in the dumps without the word of God.

After an agonisingly long battle with bronchitis, S' was struck with high fever – cause unknown even after X-ray and blood test. She has also migrated from the nebuliser to a space chamber inhaler (google it).

My plate is full with a slew of company results and work trips to KL and HK this week.

Yesterday I chose FAMILY over work and cancelled the KL trip - prepared to give up my job (okay.. it’s not that serious. But I was prepared).  Couldn’t bear the thought of being away if she’s required to be admitted to the hospital. Thank God she didn’t have to.

I’m standing on Isaiah 53:4, believing that her fever is GONE by today.

Breathing machine

1st nebuliser administration in the clinic: HYSTERICAL
2nd administration at home: slight struggle but comforted by Barny and TV
3rd administration at home: slight struggle but bribed with some potato chips
4th administration during sleep: No reaction
5th administration at home: calm and able to hold the mask on her own

I wonder what our parents used to do when we had phlegmy cough that never seemed to recover. One thing for sure- a penguin-shaped breathing machine did not exist then.

T.I.R.E.D

I can't think of a better title. TIRED is the only word to describe me in recent weeks. I wonder how long more are we going to battle with this sleeping topic...

S had been sleeping through the night end of last year, hence we converted her cot into a junior bed. However, the accessibility of the bed has allowed her to come down easily and climb into our bed. Other nights she would wake up during the night, requesting for milk (knowing that we won't entertain that idea).
It must have been weeks since we last slept through the night.

Cousin: Sis, why do you look like this?
Me: Like what?
Cousin: Like a zombie.

If this is from my angelic cousin who hardly has anything bad to say, I need a face lift.

Learning by association

You know that a child is completely brained washed by Sesame Street when this conversation takes place:-

Adult: What colour is this? (holding on to a red magic pen)
Child: Elmo colour
Adult: (?????!) What colour is this? (yellow pen)
Child: Big bird colour
And the list goes on with Oscar (green), Abby Cadabby (pink), Ernie (orange) etc with the entire box of magic pens being represented by the Sesame Street crew.

January's fruit(s)

Blogging has been on my mind. But too many distractions - Travel (CNY back home), restarting my engine at work (after the Dec break), TVB series, lack of sleep, being sick (skin infection) and some disspointments in life were the main deterents- yes yes, blame it all on others...
At the beginining of the year I had planned to record at least one "fruit" for each month, in line with the theme of the year, "Unceasing fruitfulness". I think this is a good reason for me to resume my bloggging.

Fruits in January :-

**6/6 vision - yes! No more glasses! This also means my dark eye circles are now naked to the world!

**I started reading the bible. Like really R.E.A.D. and not use it as a hypnotising tool

**Best friend started to attend church (again) after 20 years. I pray that she knows that Jesus will never leave nor forsake her.
