East to West

Subsequent to my previous bitter post, things got better.

Day 2 in NY- I had my first ‘snowing’ experience. It was beautiful.

Due to the snow storm, we took a train from NY to Boston.  Felt like White Christmas.

Toronto- nice city with a lot of Asians (though not shown in picture).

Denver- beautiful mountains. A place that I would come back with daddy M and bb S.

San Diego- my final stop. Fantastic weather. Beautiful sky and sea.

Thank God that I’m out of NY as the snow storm situation turned worse after we left.

It’s been one heaven of a week.

I’m all ready to go home.

Bitter cold

I gulped when I looked out of the plane, thinking to myself: it should be okay. It’s not that bad. Don’t worry. I’m prepared.

The next morning before I left my hotel, the weather forecast showed 18 degrees. I was thinking, hey, it’s not that bad after all, I can take 18! The snow have melted! I might be overdressed and look like a dumpling with my 4-layer outfit! I went out of the hotel high-spirited.

A couple of hours later, after walking a few blocks from meetings to meetings, I realised it’s 18 degrees farenheit aka –7 degrees celcius! Knock knock!! The wool jacket that I brought with me was being described as ‘wearing nothing’ by my US colleagues.

8 meetings and 12 hours later, I came back to the hotel, beaten, miserable, exhausted, homesick, blurred vision as jet lag effects kicked in. I survived the coldest day in NY city todate! This is a far cry from my dreams of walking on streets covered with snow in my nice-looking-stylo winter coat and boots, as shown on TV.

My next stops: Boston and Toronto. I will try to enjoy myself. How often do I get to experience –1 to –7 degrees celcius.

xoxo,

grrrr…..

How do you spell L.O.V.E

Children spell love as T.I.M.E. I’ve known this fact for years and kept reminding myself time and time again with bb S. One minute spent waiting for their parents to come home or pick them up from school could be as long as one day in adults’ world. I hope bb S will get through her days during my 7-day absence with lots of laughter, daddy, aunty J, Ava and Tata (daddy M’s parents), play, nap, TV, yummy biscuits, books, toys that she may not have time to ‘miss’ maammy.

My season

This is my season. A season that I wouldn't’ trade with anything in the world. I enjoy every bit of it (apart from my hectic travelling schedule) because ‘maaaameee’ is bb S’s favourite phrase. I get called from the moment she wakes up, till she sleeps, as long as she sees me.

Patience pays and good things come to those who wait. She started calling ‘daddy’ months ago and I’ve been waiting patiently for my turn. And when it finally came through, it came with abundance :)

All set for 1st quarter

January. A month of fresh starts. The time where everybody is filled with energy, resolutions, dreams and hopes.  I don’t have resolutions but I have 3 wishes which I have cast to the Lord. I will blog about it in Dec 2011 how they are being met (wink).

Now, how do I keep myself motivated for the next 11 months at work? As usual, I plan for holidays .

End January- CNY in Penang. I am looking forward to this!  It’s only 3 weeks away! Let’s not talk about the boring work travelling plans before that.

February-  reporting season. The bright side: it’s a short month.

March – perhaps we can squeeze in a weekend away in Bangkok?

April – Bringing my folks and in laws to Perth! Our way of thanking them for helping with bb S.

My 1Q11 is set and it’s looking  pretty good!
