First PTM

2012

We were excited to attend our first PTM (Parents-Teacher-Meeting) yesterday. My parents had never attended any PTM in my whole life as a student. Rather, PTMs were only for those who needed disciplining during my era.

PTM for a 2 year old, hmmm… what did we talk about? Surely only good things (wink).

Social skills- good

Attentiveness and interest in Chinese- good

Adaptability after long-period of absence – good

Chattiness- very

Messy play – good

Wading pool- NOPE

“However, we observed that she’s a bit cautious. She won’t be the first to answer any questions. She would wait for at least one friend to take the lead before answering/ trying new things. She’s also on the timid side- not adventurous in accepting big, furry stuff toys.”

We are happy.

Mozart vs. the puppets

It was her idea to play the violin. She bossed me to sing while the puppets danced. Totally professional!

This is the flavour of the month- our orchestrated puppet show is on almost every night. Loads of fun!

Did I mention that the violin is a toy which cost S$5.90?

First sports day

The school principal honoured her promise to all the parents to have a good laugh, watching a bunch of 2-3 year olds perform on their first sports day.  Technically it was only a 20-minute tele-match.

Some children cried, overwhelmed by enthusiastic strangers (parents) while some smirked knowing that mommy and daddy were cheering at the finishing line.  I believe the parents had more fun than the children, or at least I did.

I am a typical woman driver

I have never pride myself on being a good driver, or parker. But to have a note "Don't drive if you don't know how to park!!!" stuck on the windscreen was a major blow to my driving confidence.

The mystery lies in where and who wrote the note? Could someone be so resourceful to be equipped with a stick-on-note (in the car) and take time to write a note in a public car park? Or could it be a neighbour who has secretly habored hatred toward my lousy parking skills for days??

After having the car for the past few days (daddy M has been sick), I truly appreciate my husband who wakes up early every morning to drive me to work (though he starts much later than I do), beating the traffic every evening, at times irritated by lousy drivers like me on the road...

The day I will never forget

Today in history of my life – dad followed me to church for the first time.  A dream that I had no idea how it would come true before today.

It may due to logistic arrangement which left dad no choice but to follow me, but I believe it’s all ‘planned’ with divine intervention.

As expected, dad fell asleep during service and did not comment much after, but I truly believe that he’s touched by the Holy Spirit, somehow. I’m contented that he went.

When God is at work, we just need to rest.

So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”  ~~ Acts 16:31

February's fruit

February has been a challenging month.

Work - other than the annual results season with some late nights here and there plus last-minute travels, the biggest thing was a 30% pay cut being imposed, retrospectively to January! Such is my industry...At least this round (vs. 2009), I'm better prepared, thanks to Jeremiah 17:7-8.
Family - Lack of sleep and fire-fighting with S down most part of the month is making me consider botox and hiring a children's sleep expert.
Health- I am still believing for full recovery of the attack of unknown bacteria which caused painful boils to develop on my body.
Friends- Long overdue meet-up with my dear friend SY whom I thought would never meet again is probably THE fruit for me in February...

With the worst behind me (amen!), I'm looking forward to more fruits in March. To name a few, a colleague of mine who has not gone to church for more than a decade has requested me to accompany him for service this Sun! And we are starting our new home renovation today!
